Lyrics

Old Pharaoh (Words/Lyrics & Music by Steve Laurie: 2/12/90)

Old Pharaoh, he sure was hard head
He sure was a bonehead, to mess with the Lord
Moses, told him plain and simple, let my people go Pharaoh, into the wilderness
But Pharaoh, had a heart of stone, said you can’t go, no no no no no no no

So he got a plague of water turnin’ into blood
He got a plague of lice, flies and frogs
He got a plague of boils all over the skin
He go a little fire comin’ down with frozen rain

But Pharaoh, hardened his heart, just as he’d done from the start, and then it got dark
Then Pharaoh, finally let ‘em go, after the Passover, in the middle of the night
And Moses, led a major exodus, took ‘em all outta Egypt, into the wilderness
And finally, the people was a free, to worship the most holy, God of glory

A God who can deliver from any circumstance
A Red Sea, a lion’s den, a fiery furnace
He can set you free, from what has you bound
Cause He’s the Lord of Lords, the King of Kings, almighty God

Praise Him, sing hallelujah, sing of our Deliverer, our mighty God
Praise Him, sing hallelujah, sing of our Deliverer, our mighty God
Our mighty God, our mighty God, our mighty God, our mighty God
